Concrete Core Drilling – Cammeray, North Sydney

Our team members have been performing concrete core drilling works for our client Auric Projects in Cammeray, North Sydney. The works involve multiple core holes in a large number of apartments to allow for services.

The Challenges

Currently, two of our teams are working on this large core-drilling project for our client. It involves the drilling of multiple core holes in each apartment in a large apartment complex. So far our team members have completed the majority of the work with only a few apartments left to complete.

Our team members are using our Weka DK16 Core Drill and stand to perform most of the core drilling. The client also requested slurry control. So, we are using our Tyrolit Slurry Vac to ensure the concrete slurry created is contained.

The majority of the work carried out so far has run very smoothly, in the past couple of days though our team members have been running into excessive steel. This just means it takes longer to core through the slab. Because we don’t want to overheat the diamond teeth on the core barrel or push the drill beyond its capacity.

For one of the apartments, the floor tiles were already laid so our team members used a vacuum anchor to attach the core stand. This allows our team members to perform the core hole without having to drill an anchor point and install a dyna bolt. This means there is no need for an unnecessary hole in the tile.

Currently, our team members have completed all cores in a number of unit blocks with just a few apartments left to complete.

The Result

Our client has been very happy with the efficiency of our team members so far and delighted with the quality of work carried out.
