Our Perfect Concrete Care team just completed another grinding job for our trusted client JMF Constructions. We have been working with JMF on various Fitness First job sites across Sydney/Western Sydney. Refurbishing the floors for the renovation of existing gyms, the owner has now engaged us on this project for his personal property.
These works went over the duration of 2 weeks, we had 2 operators on-site daily. The objective of the grinding works was to remove all epoxy coatings that were existing on top of the concrete driveway. There was approximately 400m2 of black epoxy to remove, which was quite thick. Using our Tyrolit HTC RX6 floor grinder, edge grinder and hand grinders we were able to cut into the epoxy with specialised diamond blades.
After removing the first layer of epoxy, we found there to be a layer of red coloured oxide underneath. To remove this off the concrete was quite a lengthy process that took multiple passes. We had to change which diamond shoes we used to cater to the membrane we were removing. As each passed, we lightly removed the red colour.
Our objective of this project was to get the concrete back to base. Ater multiple passes we were able to achieve the finish our client was after.
