Old epoxy, glue, vinyl and failed waterproofing all have to come off before anything new goes down. That is the part that holds programmes up.
Perfect Concrete Care removes coatings, adhesives, floor coverings and waterproofing membranes from concrete across Sydney and wider New South Wales. Commercial, retail, health, car park and industrial. We do the removal and the surface preparation behind it, so the slab is handed over ready for the next system.
Tell us what is on the slab and what is replacing it. We will tell you the method and the programme.

What We Take Off
- Waterproofing membranes. Sheet and liquid applied, off decks, planters, wet areas, plant rooms and balconies.
- Epoxy and resin coatings. Industrial floor coatings, car park coatings and old sealers.
- Adhesives and glue. Blackjack, pressure sensitive carpet and vinyl adhesive, and tile mortar beds.
- Floor coverings. Carpet, carpet tile, vinyl, VCT and ceramic tile, lifted and the residue ground off.
- Line marking and surface contamination. Car park and warehouse line marking, paint, oil and rust staining.
- Laitance and curing compound. The layer that stops a new coating bonding to a fresh slab.
How We Do It
The method depends on what is coming off, what is underneath, and how much access and noise the site will tolerate.
- Planetary grinding for open floor areas, with the tooling matched to the coating rather than to whatever is on the machine.
- Hand grinding for edges, corners, upstands, penetrations and anywhere a walk-behind will not reach.
- Scarifying and shot blasting where the coating is thick or the profile needs to be aggressive.
- H-class extraction throughout. Removing old coatings generates respirable crystalline silica and, on older buildings, other contaminants. Dust control is designed into the method, not bolted on.

A Job That Shows the Problem
Martin Place, for Buildcorp. More than 300 square metres of waterproofing membrane removed from a pump room with tight access. Small floor grinders on the open areas, hand grinders on the edges and around services, and the substrate prepared for the new membrane. The access is what makes these jobs, not the square metres.
Sleeping Giant, Prospect. 800 square metres of commercial carpet and its adhesive removed from a trading retail floor, then the slab prepared for the new covering.
Before You Ask for a Price
Three things change the number more than anything else. What the coating actually is, because a two pack epoxy and a thin sealer are different jobs. Whether the slab underneath is sound. And what access and hours you can give us. If you know all three, we can price it properly. If you do not, we will come and look.
What Happens Next
Removal is rarely the whole job. Once the old system is off, the slab usually needs profiling, patching or levelling before the new one goes on. We do that too, so there is no gap between trades and no argument about who was responsible for the substrate.
