Our Perfect Concrete Care team members have just completed Concrete Cutting works for our client, DEGNAN Constructions, at Town Hall Station. These works involved cutting a section of a concrete slab above the escalators.
Techniques Used
Our team members performed a concrete cutting project for our client, DEGNAN Constructions, at Town Hall Station. The scope of work was to cut a section of the concrete slab above the escalators.
To perform the cutting, our team members used our Hilti Electric 14” Demolition Saw, as the project was indoors. So due to fumes, the team could not use the petrol Husqvarna Demolition Saw. Our client also requested slurry control. It was to ensure the surrounding area was not damaged during the cutting process as a water supply is needed to keep the diamond blade from overheating.
For this, our team members used our Hilti VC50 Dry / Wet Vac that connects directly to the blade guard of the demo saw, allowing the slurry to be vacuumed out straight off the blade. This allows us to control the slurry effectively and reduces the time spent by our team members cleaning the site afterward.
Once the cut was completed, our team members used our Metabo 5” Diamond Grinder to grind down the edge to ensure a smooth surface was left for our client. All works were carried out after hours. At Perfect Concrete Care, we can perform complex works after hours if you require.
