When Shellcove Golf Club approached Perfect Concrete Care to carry out remediation works on soot and fire-damaged floors, of course, we said “Yes”. After all, that’s what we do. We get it done.
Firstly our Wollongong/Shoalhaven manager Marco Mantovaninni inspected the floor and put together a quote to carry out grind and seal works. This would grind out all imperfections and damages in the floor, while the sealant would protect the floor for years to come.
Due to the limited access, Marco decided that our HTC 420 Grinder and dust extractor would be best suited for this project. It is smaller and more compact than the HTC 600’s. But it still packs a lot of power and is far more maneuverable. Making it ideal for tight access projects like this.
After carrying out the initial passes with the low grit diamond shoes to remove all soot and fire damage. Marco exposed the concrete aggregate for what’s called a salt and pepper finish. Then Marco changed up to higher grit diamonds to give the concrete that smooth polished look and feel.
Once all the grinding was carried out, the area was thoroughly cleaned using heavy dusty HTC Duratiq Dust Extractors. It was to ensure the surface was spotless before applying the concrete densifier and sealant.
The finished floor was a beautifully smooth, salt and pepper polished concrete that the client was very impressed with. This floor is protected for years to come thanks to the anti-absorbent features of our specialised sealant.
