- Scanning and GPR technician
- NSW, QLD and WA
- Full time
- AU work rights required
We are hiring concrete scanning technicians and GPR operators across New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.
This is the job that stops the expensive mistakes. You scan the slab or the wall, you mark what is in there, and the cutting crew works to your mark. Get it right and nobody ever hears about it. Get it wrong and somebody hits a post tension tendon.
Fill in the form below and someone will ring you back within one business day. It takes about two minutes. The more you tell us about your tickets and your inductions, the faster we can put you on a job.

What the work is
- Scanning slabs, walls, columns and beams before anyone cuts or drills.
- Locating reinforcement, post tension tendons, conduits and services inside concrete.
- Marking up clearly on the deck so the cutting and drilling crews can work to it.
- Writing up what you found, with photos, so there is a record if it is ever queried.
- Talking to the engineer or the builder when the scan shows something the drawings did not.
- Knowing the limits of the gear and saying so when a scan is not conclusive.
Tickets and experience
GPR experience from utility locating counts, tell us about it.
- White Card and hands on GPR or concrete scanning experience.
- Familiar with GPR units and their limits in thick or heavily reinforced concrete.
- Understanding of post tension slabs and why a tendon strike matters.
- Working at Heights, Confined Space or EWP if you hold them.
- Live Tier 1 inductions are a real advantage.
- A driver licence and your own way to site.
- Note: this is scanning INSIDE concrete. It is not underground service locating and it is not concrete cancer investigation.
What it pays
Pay depends on experience and tickets. Tell us what you are on and we will be straight with you. Travel work pays more, and there is interstate work for people who want it. People tend to stay with us once they start: the crew is energetic, dedicated and good to work alongside, and we back them.
Other names for this job
Companies label this role differently and so do candidates. If your last job was called GPR technician, concrete scanning technician, ground penetrating radar technician, concrete scanner, service locator, utility locator, slab scanning technician, non destructive testing technician, GPR operator or concrete imaging technician, and the work matches what is above, this is the same job. We hire on what you can do on the tools, not on the title.
What we are like to work for
We are a young business and we are growing. That is the honest pitch. It means the structure is not set in concrete, there is room to move up if you are any good, and the person who decides is not six layers away from site. We buy decent gear, we back people who bring a better way of doing something, and safety is not a poster in the lunch room.
Work rights
You need the right to work in Australia. We do not sponsor visas and we do not charge anyone a fee to apply or to be placed, ever. If someone asks you for money to get a job with us, it is not us.
What happens after you apply
- You get an email straight away confirming we have your application.
- Someone rings you within one business day, on the mobile number you give us.
- If you did not attach a CV, reply to that confirmation email with it. It is the fastest way to get in front of us.
- We keep your details on file. Even if there is nothing today, we come back to people when the right job lands.
Where we work
We run out of Marrickville in Sydney and Slacks Creek in Queensland, with crews across greater Sydney, the Hunter, Wollongong, Canberra and South East Queensland, and we travel for the bigger jobs. Western Australia work is starting up too, so put your hand up on the form if you would fly out of Perth.
