Perfect Concrete Care was recently engaged by LP Stratico Builders to carry out balcony surface preparation works at a residential property in Killarney Heights. The objective: prepare multiple balconies for the application of waterproofing membranes by ensuring the concrete surfaces met industry standards for adhesion and cleanliness.
Scope of Works
Our team undertook a detailed three-day program, involving:
- Mechanical Surface Grinding: Complete removal of existing coatings, laitance, and contaminants from balcony slabs.
- Detail Work: Precision grinding around edges, tight corners, and termination points to ensure comprehensive surface exposure.
- Concrete Patching: Minor repair works were carried out to address areas of deterioration or surface inconsistencies, helping to create a uniform substrate.
- Clean & Compliant Site Management: The worksite was kept organised, dust-controlled, and safe throughout the duration of the works.
Results
By the end of the third day, all balconies were fully prepped and handed over to the waterproofing contractor - on time and to specification. The clean, profiled surface now offers an optimal bond for membrane application, contributing to the longevity and reliability of the finished waterproofing system.
