Core drilling on the Sunshine Coast: Clean round holes through slabs, walls, beams and soffits
- Clean round holes through slabs, walls, beams and soffits
- Service penetrations, anchor holes, risers and large cores
- Scan first on anything suspended or structural
- Water collected with slurry rings and wet vacuums
- Stitch drilling where a saw cannot get in
- Angled, inverted and hand coring off scaffold or towers
Yes. We core drill concrete on the Sunshine Coast. Clean round holes through slabs, walls, beams and soffits for pipes, ducts, cables, anchors and services, one hole or six thousand, with the slab scanned first.
If you need holes through concrete on the Sunshine Coast for plumbing, electrical, fire, mechanical or data services, anchors for plant or racking, or a large penetration for a riser or a duct, Perfect Concrete Care does that work. Tell us how many holes, what diameter, how thick the concrete is and what is inside it, and we will give you a method, a programme and a price.
Sunshine Coast enquiries: call 07 2145 6581 or use the form at the bottom of this page. Carlos and the Queensland team run the job from our Slacks Creek base, and Sunshine Coast work is booked as a block.

What we core on the Sunshine Coast
Service penetrations. Holes for hydraulic pipes, fire services, HVAC ducts, electrical conduits and data runs through floors, walls and beams. The most common job, usually a set of holes marked out from the services drawings and drilled in a day.
Anchor and fixing holes. Hundreds or thousands of holes for racking, plant, machinery bases, balustrades and structural anchors, set out to a grid and drilled to a consistent depth. Our Yennora make good ran to 6,000 holes in stage one.
Large and deep cores. Risers, sump and drain penetrations, crane and prop bases, and cores through thick foundations and capping beams. Stitch drilling where a square or rectangular opening is needed and a saw cannot get in.
Angled, inverted and hand coring. Soffits and ceilings, angled holes for falls, and hand held coring where a stand will not fit. Wall coring at height off scaffold or towers.
Coring with cutting and scanning. Cores to start a wall or floor saw cut, cores to pass a wire through a beam, and GPR scanning before any of it on suspended slabs. Where a hole cannot miss a tendon, tendon truncation with an engineer.
Where this work happens on the Sunshine Coast
Maroochydore and the new CBD, Kawana and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital precinct, Caloundra, Noosa, Nambour, Kunda Park, plus Caboolture and Morayfield on the way up. Live buildings, rail possessions, hospitals, retail fit outs, warehouses and occupied offices, where the holes have to be in the right place, the right size and drilled without flooding the floor below.
How we core
Scan first on anything suspended or structural. Then set out from your drawings and confirm the marks with you before drilling. Stand mounted rigs for accuracy and production, hand held rigs for small holes and tight spots. Husqvarna, WEKA and Tyrolit core drills with diamond bits sized to the hole, water fed to the bit and collected with slurry rings and wet vacuums so nothing runs through to the tenancy below.

For high volume work we mount the rigs and dust extraction on trolleys so the crew moves from hole to hole without re-setting a vacuum pad every time. That is how 700 cores get done in a single rail possession weekend. Cores are removed, holes are cleaned and left ready for the next trade, and where the scope includes it we patch redundant holes to a flush finish.
Before you ask for a price
Four things set the number. How many holes and what diameter. Slab or wall thickness and reinforcement, because a 150 millimetre slab and a one metre foundation are different rigs and different days. Whether the concrete is suspended or post tensioned, which decides the scanning. And access, water, power and hours, because a clear warehouse floor on a weekday is faster than a hospital ceiling at night. Send the services drawing and a photo and we can usually price it without a visit.
What we do not do
We do not core for homeowners or do handyman jobs, and we do not hire out core drills or bits. We do not do geotechnical, soil or rock core drilling, or mineral exploration drilling. Concrete core sampling for testing is done on request as part of a commercial job. If you are a services contractor, a builder, a fit out company, a facilities or strata manager or a head contractor with concrete that needs holes in it on the Sunshine Coast, you are in the right place.
Common questions
Do you core drill for homeowners on the Sunshine Coast?
No. We work for plumbers, electricians, fire and mechanical contractors, builders, fit out companies, facilities managers and head contractors on commercial, industrial and infrastructure sites. A couple of holes in a house slab is a job for a local handyman or a hire drill.
What sizes and depths can you core?
Anything from small anchor and dowel holes up to large penetrations for pipes, ducts and risers, in floors, walls, soffits and ceilings, at any angle. Deep cores are routine: we have pulled two metre long cores out of a tower crane base. Tell us the diameter, the depth and what the hole is for and we will bring the right rig.
How do you stop the drill hitting cables or post tension?
On suspended and structural slabs we scan first with GPR and mark the reinforcement, conduits and tendons before the drill touches the concrete. If a hole cannot avoid a post tension cable, the job becomes tendon truncation and needs an engineer. We do not core blind.
Can you work in an occupied building?
Yes. Electric rigs, water fed to the bit and captured with slurry rings and wet vacs, the area sealed off, and after hours or staged if the floor has to keep trading. Water and slurry are controlled, not left to run through the ceiling below.
Other areas we cover
This page is about Sunshine Coast. We also core drill in Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Brisbane and Gold Coast. For the full service overview see concrete core drilling.
Chemical anchoring by city
If the holes are for chemical anchors, dowels, starter bars or post installed rebar and you want us to drill and install to the engineer's specification, that work has its own page for each area we cover, with the local number and the estates, corridors and council areas we work in. Chemical anchoring in Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
