Delivering a Durable Floor for a High-Traffic Gym
Perfect Concrete Care was engaged by JMF Constructions to complete a mechanical concrete polishing system for the new Anytime Fitness facility in Emerald Hills. This project covered 167 square metres of concrete flooring and required a solution that would provide strength, durability, slip resistance, and a professional finish suitable for a busy commercial gym environment.
Anytime Fitness gyms operate long hours and experience constant foot traffic and equipment use, so the flooring needs to combine both aesthetic appeal and low-maintenance performance. Concrete polishing is the ideal solution, delivering a floor that is both functional and visually refined.
The Polishing Process
Our scope of work for this project followed a carefully staged mechanical polishing process:
- Multi-pass metal bond grinding up to #120/140 grit to cut and refine the concrete surface
- Resin polishing stages using #50, #100, and #200 grit pads to achieve a uniform satin finish
- Application of densifier/hardener to strengthen the surface and extend the life of the floor
- Liquid grouting to fill pinholes and imperfections, ensuring a smooth, consistent substrate
- Sealing with Worx+ Totally Defender to protect the floor against stains and wear
- Final buffing to create a clean, satin finish with professional visual appeal
By following this sequence, the polished floor was prepared to withstand the demands of a commercial fitness environment while meeting the quality expectations of both the client and the gym brand.
