Some of our team members just completed Wall Sawing works for our client Continuum Alliance at Leura Train Station in the Blue Mountains. These works included cutbacks of the platform with our Tyrolit WSE1217 Wall Saw.
These works involved the vertical cutbacks of the coping edge and horizontal wall sawing on the existing coping edge. It allows for installing precast panels that extend the platform.

During the possession weekend, all our team members arrived on site prior to starting for site-specific safety induction. As works were being carried out on the rail corridor, all our team members required their rail industry worker cards.
The scope of work for our Concrete Care division was to make vertical cutbacks on the coping edge using our large Tyrolit WSE1217 Wall Saw. The other task was to make horizontal cuts on the other side of the platform. It allows for installing new precast panels that would extend out the platform.
Our team members began by marking out the area with our Hilti Laser Levels. It was to ensure that the cuts were accurate. Then our team members installed the track for the wall saw on the coping edge and began the vertical cuts.
Once the vertical cuts were complete, our team members installed the wall saw rail onto the opposite side to make the horizontal cuts. The team carried out all work without incident. New pre-cast panels could be installed before the station was open again on Monday morning.
The Result:
Our client was very impressed with the speed and efficiency of our team members and the quality of the work carried out.
