Skilled Concrete Care Worker and Renderer Jobs

  • Concrete care worker or renderer
  • Sydney and Brisbane
  • Patching, render and remedial work
  • AU work rights required
Apply now, takes 2 minutes

We are hiring skilled concrete care workers and renderers. Patch repairs, render and finishing, surface preparation, coating and membrane removal, and general remedial work on live commercial buildings, car parks and industrial sites in Sydney and Brisbane.

This is a hands on trade role, not a labouring job with a broom. If you are a renderer, a plasterer who has moved onto concrete repair, a concreter who can finish a patch so nobody can see it, or a remedial labourer with a few years behind you, we want to hear from you. Experienced people only for this one. Offsiders with no experience should look at our concrete cutting offsider page instead.

Fill in the form below and someone will ring you back within one business day. It takes about two minutes. Attach a CV if you have one handy, and tell us which city.

    The basics

One minute. Seven quick answers, then a second page about your experience.

We are hiring in NSW, QLD and WA, including FIFO mining work out of Perth. Pick "Anywhere in Australia" if you will travel.
You must already have the right to work in Australia. We are not able to sponsor visas.
Pick the closest one. The next questions change to match.
PDF or Word, up to 5MB. If you do not have one on your phone, submit anyway and reply to our email with it.

    Your experience

The more you tick, the better we can match you to a job.

    References and availability

Optional now, we will ask when we call you. A work reference or a character reference, name, company and phone.
Fly-in fly-out, drive-in drive-out, or away for a stint. The away jobs usually pay better.
Pick the one that suits you best right now. Regional NSW, regional Queensland and remote sites are all on the list.

A few lines is fine. Real employers and real jobs, because this is what we search when a role comes up.

    What the work is

    • Patching spalled concrete and finishing it flush with the surrounding surface, hand applied and sprayed mortars, on soffits, columns, balconies and facades.
    • Rendering and skim coating repaired areas, matching texture and line so the repair disappears under the coating.
    • Surface preparation: grinding, scabbling, blasting and cleaning to the profile the coating or strengthening system needs.
    • Removing failed coatings, membranes and sealants and preparing joints for new systems.
    • Setting up and looking after the work area on an occupied building: hoardings, dust control, slurry control and protecting the cars parked next to you.
    • Working to the repair specification with hold points and photos, because a consultant signs off most of what we do.

Tickets and experience we look for

Tell us what you actually hold. Missing one or two is not a problem.

    • Two or more years rendering, plastering, concreting or concrete repair. Show us a job you are proud of.
    • White Card. Working at Heights and EWP tickets are useful, most of this work is off a platform or scaffold.
    • Silica awareness and current respiratory fit testing, or willing to do it in your first week.
    • Able to work from a drawing and a method statement, and to tell the supervisor when the substrate is not what the drawing says.
    • A driver licence and your own transport to site.

Where the roles are and what it pays

Sydney out of Marrickville and Brisbane out of Slacks Creek, with crews across greater Sydney, the Hunter, Wollongong, Canberra and South East Queensland. We travel for the bigger jobs. Pay depends on experience and tickets. Tell us what you are on and we will be straight with you. Travel work pays more, and there is interstate work for people who want it. People tend to stay with us once they start: the crew is energetic, dedicated and good to work alongside, and we back them.

    Other names for this job

Companies label this role differently and so do candidates. If your last job was called renderer, concrete renderer, patch and render finisher, remedial labourer, concrete repair labourer, skilled labourer concrete, concrete finisher, cement renderer, repair technician or remedial worker, and the work matches what is above, this is the same job. We hire on what you can do on the tools, not on the title.

What we are like to work for

We are a young business and we are growing. That is the honest pitch. The work is the complex end of concrete: repairs on live buildings and car parks, carbon fibre strengthening, crack injection, coping beam removals, post tensioned structures and Tier 1 infrastructure. The structure is not set, there is room to move up if you are any good, and the person who decides is not six layers away from site. We buy decent gear, we back people who bring a better way of doing something, and safety is not a poster in the lunch room.

    Work rights

You need the right to work in Australia. We do not sponsor visas and we do not charge anyone a fee to apply or to be placed, ever. If someone asks you for money to get a job with us, it is not us.

    What happens after you apply

    • You get an email straight away confirming we have your application.
    • Someone rings you within one business day, on the mobile number you give us.
    • If you did not attach a CV, reply to that confirmation email with it. It is the fastest way to get in front of us.
    • We keep your details on file. Even if there is nothing today, we come back to people when the right job lands.

    Other Concrete Care roles

The same opening can suit more than one title. See also Concrete Repair Technician jobs, Concrete Cutting Offsider and Trade Assistant jobs, Concrete Grinding and Polishing jobs. All Concrete Care roles are on the Work With Us page.
