Perfect Concrete Care recently completed a project directly for Sydney Trains at Wynyard Station. The project’s main objective was to cut a channel along the platform edges which allowed a gap filler to be installed and close the gap from the trains to the platform.
Our team developed a methodology using our Husqvarna FS500 Road Saws to obtain precise cuts along the platform. Our road saw is capable of cutting depths of up to 680mm with millimetre precision.
One of the key challenges of the project was to control the concrete slurry that the road saws produce. Our client Sydney Trains must abide by strict EPA guidelines so there could be zero slurry allowed to fall off the platform and onto the tracks. Fortunately, we have a fleet of Tyrolit VCE 2000 slurry vacuums that make short work of any slurry produced.
Over the two weekend possessions, our concrete care operators managed to complete over 240 lineal meters of cutting on both platforms and completed our scope of work well within schedule.
