Perfect Concrete Care was engaged by Armourtech to complete the removal of waterproofing membrane. It includes an upturn on hobs and grinding of the existing slab after all membranes had been removed. Over 300m2 of the concrete floor was grinded over the course of three days. Work was halted for a few days due to excessive rain.
The Waterproofing Removal Challenges
There was no direct access to the roof for waterproofing removal. So, we had to construct a three-storey ring lock scaffold system to gain safe access to the roof. Due to working at dangerous heights, our next task was to install anchor points before commencing the work. To ensure the safety of all employees while completing the work, safety harnesses were required to be worn. They were securely fixed to the anchor points. All our team members hold certificates for working at height which was required on this project.
After we had the safety hooks installed we began moving the equipment up onto the roof to commence the work as soon as possible. After the first day, we had completed the first two sections of the roof and could then begin applying the waterproofing solution to these sections.
On the second day, we commenced grinding work on the final two sections of the roof. By the end of the second day, we had successfully completed the work we were engaged to carry out and removed all tools and rubbish that evening.
The Result:
300m2 completed in three days with pre-existing membrane removed from the site, all by Perfect Concrete Care.
