Project Engineer, Concrete Remediation Jobs

  • Project engineer, concrete remediation
  • Sydney and Brisbane, one role each
  • Full time
  • AU work rights required
Apply now, takes 2 minutes

We are hiring a project engineer for concrete remediation and structural cutting work. Sydney and Brisbane, one role in each, running jobs from methodology through to handover on commercial, civil and Tier 1 infrastructure sites.

Civil or structural engineering degree, a few years on site, and you would rather solve the job than write about it. Carbon fibre strengthening, concrete repairs, post tensioned slabs, coping beams, pile trimming and heavy cutting are the daily diet.

Fill in the form below and someone will ring you back within one business day. It takes about two minutes. Attach a CV if you have one handy, and tell us which city.

    The basics

One minute. Seven quick answers, then a second page about your experience.

We are hiring in NSW, QLD and WA, including FIFO mining work out of Perth. Pick "Anywhere in Australia" if you will travel.
You must already have the right to work in Australia. We are not able to sponsor visas.
Pick the closest one. The next questions change to match.
PDF or Word, up to 5MB. If you do not have one on your phone, submit anyway and reply to our email with it.

    Your experience

The more you tick, the better we can match you to a job.

    References and availability

Optional now, we will ask when we call you. A work reference or a character reference, name, company and phone.
Fly-in fly-out, drive-in drive-out, or away for a stint. The away jobs usually pay better.
Pick the one that suits you best right now. Regional NSW, regional Queensland and remote sites are all on the list.

A few lines is fine. Real employers and real jobs, because this is what we search when a role comes up.

    What the work is

    • Writing the methodology and the price. Walking the site with the client, working out how the cut, core, strengthening or repair actually gets done, and putting a number on it that holds.
    • Running the job. Programme, crews, plant, subcontractors, ITPs and the paperwork a Tier 1 principal contractor expects.
    • Carbon fibre and FRP strengthening: reading the engineer's design, coordinating the installer, checking substrate preparation and pull off tests.
    • Concrete repair scopes: spalling, cracking, reinforcement corrosion, protective coatings, written up so the client, the engineer and the crew are reading the same thing.
    • Structural cutting: wall saw, track saw, wire saw and core drilling combined into one method on coping beams, footings, pile heads, tunnels and post tensioned structures, with the scan done before anyone cuts.
    • Client contact from first call to final invoice. Our clients buy confidence, not the lowest price.

    Qualifications and experience

Tell us what you actually hold. Missing one or two is not a problem.

    • Bachelor of Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience with a remedial or cutting contractor.
    • Two years or more on construction, remediation or civil sites. Contractor side preferred over consultancy.
    • White Card. Working at Heights, Confined Space and rail inductions are a bonus, not a requirement.
    • Comfortable with estimating, programmes and ITPs. We will show you our way, but you need to have done it somewhere.
    • A driver licence. You will be on site most days, not at a desk.

Where the roles are and what it pays

Two roles are open now, one in Sydney working out of Marrickville and one in Brisbane working out of Slacks Creek. A Perth role is coming as the Western Australia work starts up, so if Perth is home, apply now and say so on the form. Pay depends on experience. Tell us what you are on and we will be straight with you. Travel work pays more, and there is interstate work for people who want it. People tend to stay with us once they start: the crew is energetic, dedicated and good to work alongside, and we back them.

    Other names for this job

Companies label this role differently and so do candidates. If your last job was called project engineer, remedial project engineer, concrete remediation project engineer, site engineer remedial, remedial engineer, concrete repair project engineer, structural repair project engineer, remediation engineer or project engineer construction, and the work matches what is above, this is the same job. We hire on what you have run and delivered, not on the title.

What we are like to work for

We are a young business and we are growing. That is the honest pitch. The work is the complex end of concrete: coping beam removals, pile and footing modification, tunnel and rail shutdown cutting, post tensioned structures, carbon fibre strengthening and concrete repairs on live buildings and Tier 1 infrastructure. The structure is not set, there is room to move up if you are any good, and the person who decides is not six layers away from site. We buy decent gear, we back people who bring a better way of doing something, and safety is not a poster in the lunch room.

    Work rights

You need the right to work in Australia. We do not sponsor visas and we do not charge anyone a fee to apply or to be placed, ever. If someone asks you for money to get a job with us, it is not us.

    What happens after you apply

    • You get an email straight away confirming we have your application.
    • Someone rings you within one business day, on the mobile number you give us.
    • If you did not attach a CV, reply to that confirmation email with it. It is the fastest way to get in front of us.
    • We keep your details on file. Even if there is nothing today, we come back to people when the right job lands.

    Other engineering roles

The same opening can suit more than one title. See also Remedial Engineer jobs, Structural Engineer, Concrete Repair jobs. All Concrete Care roles are on the Work With Us page.
