- Remedial engineer
- Sydney and Brisbane, one role each
- Full time
- AU work rights required
We are hiring remedial engineers. Sydney and Brisbane, one role in each. Concrete repairs, carbon fibre strengthening, waterproofing removal and structural modification on live commercial buildings, car parks, bridges and industrial plant.
If you have spent time diagnosing concrete cancer, specifying repairs or supervising remedial crews, and you want to be on the contractor side where the work actually happens, this is the role.
Fill in the form below and someone will ring you back within one business day. It takes about two minutes. Attach a CV if you have one handy, and tell us which city.

What the work is
- Investigating the defect: cover meter, scanning, break outs and test cores, then working out what is actually wrong and what fixes it.
- Writing repair scopes and methodologies for spalling, delamination, reinforcement corrosion, cracking and failed coatings, and pricing them.
- Pricing the job and then running it: site walk with the client, methodology, a number that holds, programme, crews, subcontractors, variations handled honestly, and the close out. You own the job from first call to final claim.
- Slab truncation and tendon truncation on post tensioned slabs, slab repairs, coping beam and pile head modifications, with the scan and the cut plan done before anyone touches concrete.
- Carbon fibre and FRP strengthening from the engineer's design through substrate preparation, installation supervision and pull off testing.
- Supervising the remedial crew on site: hold points, ITPs, photos, engineer sign off.
- Working with our cutting and coring crews when the fix involves removing concrete first, which it usually does.
- Talking to strata managers, building owners, facility managers and consulting engineers in plain language.
Qualifications and experience
Tell us what you actually hold. Missing one or two is not a problem.
- Civil or structural engineering degree, or a building or remedial trade background with years of remedial site experience.
- Hands on knowledge of concrete repair systems, protective coatings and strengthening products. Name the systems you have used.
- White Card. Working at Heights and EWP tickets are useful on facade and car park work.
- Able to write a scope a crew can follow and a client can understand.
- A driver licence and the willingness to be on site.
Where the roles are and what it pays
Two roles are open now, one in Sydney working out of Marrickville and one in Brisbane working out of Slacks Creek. A Perth role is coming as the Western Australia work starts up, so if Perth is home, apply now and say so on the form. Pay depends on experience. Tell us what you are on and we will be straight with you. Travel work pays more, and there is interstate work for people who want it. People tend to stay with us once they start: the crew is energetic, dedicated and good to work alongside, and we back them.
Other names for this job
Concrete remediation engineer, concrete remedial engineer, concrete repair engineer, structural repair engineer, remedial project engineer, building remediation engineer, strengthening engineer, refurbishment engineer. Different companies, same work. If you have priced and run carbon fibre strengthening, slab or tendon truncation, patch repairs, crack injection or concrete cancer repairs, and you can talk to a client and an engineer in the same meeting, apply. We hire on what you have delivered, not on the title.
What we are like to work for
We are a young business and we are growing. That is the honest pitch. The work is the complex end of concrete: coping beam removals, pile and footing modification, tunnel and rail shutdown cutting, post tensioned structures, carbon fibre strengthening and concrete repairs on live buildings and Tier 1 infrastructure. The structure is not set, there is room to move up if you are any good, and the person who decides is not six layers away from site. We buy decent gear, we back people who bring a better way of doing something, and safety is not a poster in the lunch room.
Work rights
You need the right to work in Australia. We do not sponsor visas and we do not charge anyone a fee to apply or to be placed, ever. If someone asks you for money to get a job with us, it is not us.
What happens after you apply
- You get an email straight away confirming we have your application.
- Someone rings you within one business day, on the mobile number you give us.
- If you did not attach a CV, reply to that confirmation email with it. It is the fastest way to get in front of us.
- We keep your details on file. Even if there is nothing today, we come back to people when the right job lands.
