Concrete Refurbishment Engineer Jobs

  • Concrete refurbishment engineer
  • Sydney and Brisbane
  • Car parks, facades and industrial floors
  • AU work rights required
Apply now, takes 2 minutes

We are hiring concrete refurbishment engineers. Whole of structure refurbishment on car parks, facades, balconies, plant rooms and industrial floors: investigation, repair scope, crack injection, strengthening, coatings and the programme that gets it done while the building stays in use.

This is the engineer who owns a refurbishment package from the first cover meter reading to the final coating inspection. You work with the consulting engineer and the owner, you price and sequence the repairs, and you run the crews doing them. Concrete engineer, remedial engineer, refurbishment engineer: if that is the work you do, the title does not matter to us.

Fill in the form below and someone will ring you back within one business day. It takes about two minutes. Attach a CV if you have one handy, and tell us which city.

    The basics

One minute. Seven quick answers, then a second page about your experience.

We are hiring in NSW, QLD and WA, including FIFO mining work out of Perth. Pick "Anywhere in Australia" if you will travel.
You must already have the right to work in Australia. We are not able to sponsor visas.
Pick the closest one. The next questions change to match.
PDF or Word, up to 5MB. If you do not have one on your phone, submit anyway and reply to our email with it.

    Your experience

The more you tick, the better we can match you to a job.

    References and availability

Optional now, we will ask when we call you. A work reference or a character reference, name, company and phone.
Fly-in fly-out, drive-in drive-out, or away for a stint. The away jobs usually pay better.
Pick the one that suits you best right now. Regional NSW, regional Queensland and remote sites are all on the list.

A few lines is fine. Real employers and real jobs, because this is what we search when a role comes up.

    What the work is

    • Investigating the structure: cover meter and half cell surveys, scanning, break outs and test cores, then turning the findings into a repair scope the owner can afford and the engineer will sign.
    • Specifying and pricing patch repairs, crack injection, cathodic protection interfaces, carbon fibre strengthening and protective coatings, and sequencing them so the car park or building stays open.
    • Running the refurbishment crew and subcontractors on site: hold points, ITPs, photos, engineer sign off and the weekly report to the client.
    • Managing variations honestly. Refurbishment work always finds more than the survey did, and the client needs to hear it from you first.
    • Working with our cutting, coring and scanning crews when the refurbishment starts with removing concrete.
    • Talking to strata managers, building owners, facility managers and consulting engineers in plain language.

Tickets and experience we look for

Tell us what you actually hold. Missing one or two is not a problem.

    • Civil or structural engineering degree, or a building or remedial trade background with years of refurbishment experience.
    • Working knowledge of concrete repair systems, injection resins, strengthening products and protective coatings. Name the systems you have specified or installed.
    • Experience pricing and programming remedial work, and at least one refurbishment you ran end to end.
    • White Card. Working at Heights and EWP tickets are useful on facades and car parks.
    • A driver licence and the willingness to be on site more than in the office.

Where the roles are and what it pays

Sydney out of Marrickville and Brisbane out of Slacks Creek, with crews across greater Sydney, the Hunter, Wollongong, Canberra and South East Queensland. We travel for the bigger jobs. Pay depends on experience. Tell us what you are on and we will be straight with you. Travel work pays more, and there is interstate work for people who want it. People tend to stay with us once they start: the crew is energetic, dedicated and good to work alongside, and we back them.

    Other names for this job

Companies label this role differently and so do candidates. If your last job was called concrete refurbishment engineer, remedial engineer, concrete remediation engineer, building refurbishment engineer, remedial project engineer, concrete repair engineer, structural repair engineer, strengthening engineer or facade remediation engineer, and the work matches what is above, this is the same job. We hire on what you have run and delivered, not on the title.

What we are like to work for

We are a young business and we are growing. That is the honest pitch. The work is the complex end of concrete: repairs on live buildings and car parks, carbon fibre strengthening, crack injection, coping beam removals, post tensioned structures and Tier 1 infrastructure. The structure is not set, there is room to move up if you are any good, and the person who decides is not six layers away from site. We buy decent gear, we back people who bring a better way of doing something, and safety is not a poster in the lunch room.

    Work rights

You need the right to work in Australia. We do not sponsor visas and we do not charge anyone a fee to apply or to be placed, ever. If someone asks you for money to get a job with us, it is not us.

    What happens after you apply

    • You get an email straight away confirming we have your application.
    • Someone rings you within one business day, on the mobile number you give us.
    • If you did not attach a CV, reply to that confirmation email with it. It is the fastest way to get in front of us.
    • We keep your details on file. Even if there is nothing today, we come back to people when the right job lands.
