Straight, deep and to the line
A road saw is the right tool when the cut is long, straight and deep: a service trench across a road, the edge of a pavement slab coming out, a kerb line that has to go, or a channel along a platform edge. You get a clean edge for the excavator or the next pour, cut to the line your engineer or the road authority drew.

How the work runs
- Scope from the drawings, photos or a marked up plan: thickness, reinforcement, what is under or beside the cut, access, power and hours.
- Where an engineer's cut plan or a road authority specification exists, we work to it and our SWMS and inspection records are written for that review.
- SWMS issued before the start and a supervisor on site for the shift. Where services or a suspended slab are possible, we scan first and mark what is there.
- Cut lines and section sizes marked out to suit the excavator, and everything staged before the lane closes: saws fuelled and bladed, spare blades, removal plant positioned, lighting set, spoil route agreed.
- Wet cut with water on the blade for dust and silica control, depth set to the slab or pavement.
- Slurry bunded and vacuumed as the cut runs, collected and removed from site. Nothing goes into a drain, onto the track or into a waterway.
- Cut sections lifted or broken out, the area cleaned and handed back for reinstatement or the next trade.
Traffic control, night possessions and staged works
Most road sawing on the Sunshine Coast happens at night, in a weekend possession or in a staged lane closure, because that is when the road or the corridor can be given up. We work to your traffic management plan rather than around it, and our supervisor talks to your traffic crew as a matter of course. If you would rather have one contract, we can arrange a traffic management contractor as part of the package. On rail corridors and depots the crew is RIW inducted and works alongside your possession and protection teams, with slurry and dust kept off the track and away from signalling. The closest Queensland work is slab removal on the Roma Street busway in Brisbane for the CBGU joint venture, done as night works under the client's traffic management, which is demolition support rather than road sawing. Our road sawing record is in New South Wales: a channel cut along both platform edges at Wynyard Station for Sydney Trains, 240 lineal metres over two weekend possessions, with no slurry allowed onto the track, highway road sawing on the Albion Park Rail Bypass for Fulton Hogan and Transport for NSW, in narrow windows on a partly closed national highway and a 120 square metre slab at Balmain for Lloyd Group marked out and sawn into 2 m squares for the excavator, with a sandbag bund holding the slurry. Do you cut driveways or paths for homeowners on the Sunshine Coast?
No. We do not cut driveways or paths for homeowners, and we do not hire out road saws or blades. Commercial, civil and infrastructure work only.
Do you provide traffic control?
We work under your traffic management plan and your traffic crew. If you want one contract we can arrange a traffic management contractor as part of the package. Our operators are saw operators, not traffic controllers.
How deep can a road saw cut?
From 25 to 500 mm, in concrete or asphalt. Deeper than that is referred to our sister company DeconCut.
Can you cut at night or in a rail possession?
Yes. Night lane closures, weekend possessions and staged works are normal. Rail corridor and depot work is done by RIW inducted crews.
